Description
Handcrafted by skilled artisans in Bangladesh, the Fultali Basket is woven from natural seagrass using traditional techniques. The fibres are dried and twisted into rope before being worked by hand into its rounded form, with a softly scalloped upper edge adding a decorative finish and the woven handle allowing it to hang easily from a suitable hook or door.
The natural seagrass gives the basket its warm colouring and tactile texture, while the handcrafted construction means subtle differences in tone, weave, shape and size are to be expected. These variations are part of its individual character and reflect the natural material and the hand of the artisan.
Styling Inspiration
Hang the Fultali in a hallway for gloves, dog leads or letters, use it in a bathroom for cloths and smaller toiletries, or position it in a bedroom or utility room for lightweight everyday storage. Its compact shape makes it particularly useful in narrower areas where floor and surface space is limited.
For a softer decorative look, the Fultali can also be used as a planter cover for faux trailing greenery, allowing the foliage to fall naturally over the scalloped edge. Its warm woven texture pairs beautifully with natural timber, linen, pale ceramics and other woven pieces, making it easy to layer into relaxed contemporary, coastal, rustic and Scandinavian-inspired interiors.
Care Instructions
Gently dust with a soft, dry cloth or use a vacuum with a brush attachment. For light marks, wipe carefully with a slightly damp cloth and allow the basket to dry fully before use. Avoid soaking, excessive moisture and prolonged exposure to strong direct sunlight.
If using as a planter cover, use faux plants or place a fully sealed inner pot inside and remove it before watering to prevent moisture from reaching the natural seagrass.
